Couples Tribute: Alan Chan & Kawomi Ekanayaka
A pretty backdrop is a must for any wedding, and in Kawomi and Alan’s opinion they couldn’t think of a better and more beautiful place than Celebrate Snug Harbor to have their wedding reception.
Snug Harbor is very special to them, it is where Alan took Kawomi on one of their very first dates and continued to bring her here for dates for the past 6 years.
Kawomi was a stunning bride in a backless Grace Loves Lace ivory gown. She carried a beautiful bouquet of pastel roses made by Designs By Ahn. Her groom Alan looked picture perfect in a navy-blue Calvin Klein suit with a pastel tie and a boutonniere made of pastel flowers to match Kawomi’s bouquet.
Snug Harbor was the perfect backdrop for their wedding photos. Their photographer captured beautiful photos of the newly wed couple in our rose gardens and Chinese Scholar garden before enjoying their reception in the Great Hall.
Kawomi and Alan’s reception kicked off with a cocktail hour followed by the couple sharing their first dance to Stand by Me by Ben E. King. The Bride and Groom planned everything themselves adding in many personal touches and elements to make their wedding picture perfect. We loved that they had a photo book made of all their engagement photos for guests to leave sweet messages and wedding wishes in.
The tables were decorated with beautiful fresh flowers in an array of pastel colors with twinkling mercury glass tea light candles. Each guest was treated to a little box of fresh macaroons from Made by Pauline in NYC at their seat.
The evening continued with tons of dancing and guests taking photos in a photo booth using a Polaroid camera provided by the Bride and Groom. They were even so kind as to provide a fun table for all the kids at their wedding so the parents could enjoy and dance a little bit more!
Advice from our Bride & Groom: “Do not hesitate to have your wedding at Celebrate Snug Harbor. It’s a beautiful place and has lots of photo opportunities. The staff was amazing to us throughout our entire planning process.”
Congratulations to Kawomi and Alan, and a huge thanks to Stephanie from Le Image Inc. for sharing these gorgeous photos with us!
