Couples Tribute: Yev & Greg
When it came time to plan their wedding day, Yev and Greg knew that Celebrate at Snug Harbor was the perfect setting to have an intimate wedding ceremony and reception. Yev and her family have been visiting Snug Harbor for many years. They have spent countless hours visiting the grounds and one of their favorite spots to visit is the beautiful and serene Chinese Scholar Garden.
Given the family’s sentimental attachment to the property, the Chinese Scholar Garden was the perfect setting to host their ceremony and cocktail hour.
While planning their big day, the couple’s goal was to plan a wedding that was elegant, serene and true to the natural beauty of Snug Harbor. Yev and Greg did all the planning themselves with help from the Celebrate team to ensure everything came together perfectly.
Red was the signature color of the day and woven throughout various design elements. Splashes of red popped in contrast to the lush green landscaping and blooming gardens. Red was used for the bridesmaid’s dresses, groomsmen’s ties, flowers and table settings.
Guests made their way to the historic Great Hall for dinner and dancing. The rustic beauty of The Great Hall, with its barrel ceiling, hand carved wood fire places and oversized palladian windows is timeless.
The couple introduced a bit of whimsy by adding string lights above the dance floor along with red paper lanterns.
Yev designed their save the dates, invitations, signs, card box and menus. For their place cards Yev recycled Greg’s pilot maps to create paper cranes (which are a symbol of happiness and good luck). She really enjoyed putting all her creativity to use and incorporated as many DIY elements that she could.
Yev assembled all the center pieces, bouquets and boutonnières herself.
For their first dance, the couple choreograph a fun tango, making good use of the couples tango lessons they had taken a few years back. Yev and Greg said it felt awesome completing the dance and sharing it with their loved ones.
Yev and Greg also had a photo booth at their reception for their guests to enjoy. For wedding favors they gave their all their guests frames for their photos and print outs.
Yev & Greg’s advice to our future couples – “It’s fun to add personal touches so that guests can see a part of you in your ceremony, dance and/or decorations.”
Congratulations to Yev and Greg, and a huge thanks to Minnow Park Photography for sharing these gorgeous photos with us!
