Helly & Greg

As summer draws to a close on September 21, we are thrilled to showcase another pretty wedding featuring vibrant pops of hot pink before autumn takes over. Helly and Greg fell in love with the picturesque grounds of Snug Harbor during a music festival in 2021. When they began scouting for wedding venues, they were elated to discover that Celebrate at Snug Harbor hosts weddings. A revisit only solidified their belief that this was the perfect venue for their special day.

Due to the unexpected weather, Helly and Greg’s initial plans to host their ceremony and cocktail hour in the Tuscan Garden had to be adjusted. Despite this, we found that the Great Hall, a place we both adore, turned out to be the perfect setting for exchanging our vows.

Helly and Greg aimed to achieve the atmosphere of a destination wedding without the stress. To accomplish this, they chose vibrant tropical colors, including lush greens and pinks, which they incorporated into even the smallest details. For example, Helly and Greg used flamingo cake toppers and included monstera leaves in the invitations and bouquets. Given their love for reading, they designed escort cards as bookmarks resembling library checkout cards, with two flamingos kissing stamped on them.

Helly and Greg were completely hands-on in orchestrating their wedding, with the invaluable help of the bride’s mother. Helly affectionately acknowledges her mother as exceptionally well-organized and detailed, especially since her recent retirement, providing ample time to ensure every aspect of the wedding fell into place. Her mother’s adeptness in craftsmanship shone through as she personally crafted the ring bearer pillow and thoughtfully assembled welcome bags for the overnight guests. The couple also took pleasure in adding their personal touch to various elements of the wedding, including creating a charming welcome table, infusing the celebration with their unique style and creativity.

Helly and Greg’s wedding was a celebration of love and music played a vital role in creating the perfect atmosphere. Instead of a traditional reading, they had two bridesmaids perform “I’ll Be Your Mirror” by The Velvet Underground, a beautiful and timeless expression of love. They shared their first dance to “Strange Magic” by ELO.  It was truly dreamy, they followed it up with the energizing “Groove is in the Heart” by Deee-Lite, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration.
