When Isabel and Chris were planning their wedding day, they had one goal in mind…have an outside wedding that didn’t feel like it was in New York City, while still being convenient for their guests to attend. And guess what? They totally nailed it by having their wedding day at Celebrate at Snug Harbor. During the wedding tour of Celebrate, Isabel and Chris instantly fell in love with the gardens, specifically the Tuscan Garden for their ceremony and the Tented Pavilion for their reception. Without any hesitation the couple knew Celebrate was the perfect location for their big day.
Isabel and Chris certainly pulled off the garden vibe for their wedding. With the help of their florist, Flowers by Bernard, they transformed The Tuscan Garden into a romantic ceremony with a beautiful setting for their “I dos”. The couple went with a dusty blue color palette, and florals in different shades of pink which looked beautiful amongst the lush greenery of the garden. It’s safe to say their ceremony took the romance to a whole new level.
The outdoor cocktail hour in the Chinese Scholar Garden and the tented reception that followed was also a beautiful sight. Isabel and Chris incorporated DIY elements into their reception. Guests were welcomed into the tent to find a beautiful display of hand painted oyster shells. Each oyster shell labeled with the guest’s name and table number, served both as place cards and favors. The couple also created their own signage, including the ceremony welcome sign, table numbers, and hand painted their signature drink signs.
The festivities continued well into the night, with the couple and their guests celebrating in the Tented Pavilion. As the night unfolded, guests sipped specialty cocktails, dined on some delicious eats and danced the night away to tunes by DJ Hanzi. The happy couple wrapped up the evening with a beautiful sparkler send-off. It was truly a magical celebration of love that Isabel and Chris pulled off effortlessly. When asked to share a piece of advice for other couples planning their big day Isabel and Chris wanted to share the following: “Have fun with the process, and don’t stress too much about the little details. We spent so much time thinking about which flowers to choose. What signs to make, etc. Honestly on the day of we didn’t even notice any of these things, since so much was going on! We had fun making those decisions, but once it becomes overwhelming try your best not to stress it (if possible!) Also take advantage of the preferred Vendors list! We had good experiences with everyone on the list, and it makes finding vendors much easier.”

Our first dance was to Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together”, and we did a surprise dance later in the night to “Vivir Mi Vida” by Marc Anthony.
