Couples Tribute – Alice and Nick

Alice and Nick could not think of a better or more beautiful place than Celebrate Snug Harbor to host their wedding day.

The couple lives a short distance from the property and enjoy frequent trips to the Harbor with friends and family. Long before they were officially engaged, they both envisioned a wedding day at Snug Harbor.

Alice and Nick had a beautiful wedding ceremony in the Tuscan Garden.

We love how they used a bright bold combination of greens, pinks, purples and reds in the flowers. The balance of bright bold colors and softer tones matched the Tuscan Garden perfectly.

After the ceremony, the couple’s photographer, Olya Vysotskayatook made great use of the grounds, snapping photos of the couple in candid moments as well as posed images in the Chinese Scholar Garden, Tuscan Garden and a fun graffiti wall they found outside of Snug Harbor.

Dinner Reception followed in The Great Hall.

The over-sized windows, barrel ceiling and historic charm of the space was a great compliment to the garden experience guests had enjoyed at ceremony and cocktail hour.  The centerpieces designed by Enchanted Florist perfectly translated the couple’s wishes for a bright and colorful look.

Alice and Nick share a love of Matryoshkas (Russian nesting dolls).  The dolls became a fun design element throughout the reception. A friend designed a logo for the dolls that incorporated the couple’s initials.  The couple’s logo was used for the photo booth pictures and made into stickers. The wedding cake was adorn with a Matryoshkas cake topper.

For wedding favors, guests were treated to petite bags of coffee beans and jelly beans each with a custom logo sticker.  Coffee for nick ( he LOVES coffee), jelly beans for Alice.

Alice and Nick’s advice for future couples planning their weddings.

“Space out the tasks over the duration of the engagement. Because of how our lives were at the time, we did a lot in the beginning and a lot at the end and had to really cram to get everything done right before the wedding. If we were able to, we would have done a lot more in the middle period.”

“There are also some tasks that were way more time-consuming than we anticipated. Everything about the invitations took so much time (finding the right design, ordering samples, putting them together, writing out the addresses, etc.). Better to leave yourself enough time for things you don’t even know will come up.”
