Couples Tribute – Serena & Ola
When Serena and Ola first got engaged they were considering a destination location wedding, but quickly changed their minds to make it easier for family and close friends to share in the day. They wanted their wedding to represent them, where they lived and how they liked to spend their time.
Serena and Ola fell in love with the idea of a garden wedding. The Botanical Gardens at Snug Harbor are only a short drive from their new home in historic Hamilton Park. Home is where the heart is; Snug Harbor would serve as the perfect backdrop for their wedding day.
The Tuscan Garden at Snug Harbor reminded Serena of the gardens of Versailles she had always loved. On a sunny day at the end of September, the couple was married among the abundant plantings and Fall foliage.
Serena was a stunning Bride in a Pantora Bridal gown. The Bridesmaids wore charcoal gowns from Dessy Group. They decided bold, gold accessories paired with floral bouquets in hues of magenta, deep red, green and white really popped against their grey dresses.
Ola and his groomsmen looked dapper in their attire from The Black Tux. Their boutonnieres, made of magenta and purple orchids, stood out against their navy tuxedos.
Columbia Florist created a stunning floral archway for the ceremony and lush statement centerpieces for The Great Hall.
After their ceremony Serena and Ola had a beautiful wedding reception in The Great Hall. Their guests enjoyed watching them share their first dance to “Adorn” by Miquel, an updated version of Prince’s classic “Adore”.
The wedding cake, provided by Palmeros Bakery, was decorated with a custom Monogram of their initials. Guests enjoyed dancing all evening to the tunes of DJ Greg Poole.
Serena and Ola shared this piece of advice with us for our future couples. “The only advice we have is to give yourself time to plan, and enjoy planning! And stick to your guns about what you both want.”
