Kerri + Joelle
There is that old saying that rain on your wedding day is good luck, but if you’ve been dreaming of an outdoor wedding ceremony, a rainy forecast can feel like a major bummer on your big day. Kerri and Joelle are proof how a little rain wouldn’t put a damper on their ‘I Do’s,’ they sure have a lucky future ahead!
When the rain forecast takes over and throws off your wedding day plans, it’s easy to worry how the day will pan out. Will your dress get wet and dirty, will everything go as planned, will your makeup and hair get ruined, and most importantly, how will your wedding photos turn out? Well, Kerri and Joelle’s wedding is proof that with a little bit of imagination, and moving their ceremony indoors, their wedding day still turned out to be as beautiful and sentimental as planned. Even the photos in the rain turned out to be stunning.
When looking for a wedding venue, Kerri and Joelle looked at a few locations for their special day. In the end, they knew the lush greenery, beautiful landscapes and the ambience of The Great Hall was truly the perfect place for their nuptials.
Kerri and Joelle did not use a wedding planner, but with the help of their families and the Celebrate at Snug Harbor team they planned, created and assured every detail was perfect.
Kerri’s cousin created the save-the-dates and wedding invitations. Kerri herself made their seating chart. Their friends helped to make the “sign in board” and the adorable dog themed signature drink signs. Kerri and Joelle said they can’t thank their families enough for helping out with a TON of the actual planning.
They spent many hours mapping out the details, figuring out where to sit people and place things for the big day. Even when mother nature decided to show up moving the ceremony inside, their families and friends made sure the arch and surrounding areas were done-up as nicely as they could be for the last-minute changes.
So, despite a little rain on their wedding day, Kerri and Joelle were able to focus on what’s important and remember what their wedding was really all about—a celebration of their love and commitment to each other. THE DETAILS
FIRST LOOK
THE CEREMONY
THE RECEPTION
Our first dance song was “The Few Things” by JP Saxe. We had an extremely hard time picking a wedding song. We are both music LOVERS. Most of our relationship has always been about music. What songs reminds us of hard times, good times, funny times etc.. Music is our language. We had a lot of options and went back and forth for a while (like MONTHS) before choosing. Our hashtag, (which was never used by us lol) was supposed to be “#JoelleGotKerridAway”.
WEDDING PORTRAITS
When asked if they could provide a bit of wedding advice to our future couples, Kerri and Joelle stated:
“It is YOUR day. It is about you and your partner & what makes you both happy. Don’t let the little things get in the way and always remember to compromise. Wedding planning is HARD and overwhelming. Try to be the comfort each other needs.”
We are so lucky to have wonderful couples like Kerri and Joelle to work with at Celebrate at Snug Harbor. A huge thank you to Into the Story Photography for sharing these gorgeous photos.
