Vicky + AJ

Vicky + AJ made the perfect choice by selecting our enchanting venue to celebrate their special day. From breathtaking views to exquisite details, the classic, minimalistic wedding theme incorporated natural woodland elements, with stunning dried flowers and wildflowers designed by one of our preferred florists Jelo Flowers & Decor. Vicky + AJ along with their Wedding Planner, Shirley and the Celebrate team crafted a wedding vision that included whites, greens, and muted earth tones, everything looked stunning against the backdrop of Snug Harbor.

This wedding was also unique in that Vicky + AJ found special ways to pay homage to Vicky’s Chinese culture, while still maintaining the classic wedding style they desired. Their invitations featured bamboo (also a nod to Snug Harbor’s Chinese Scholar Garden) and Chinese decor at their welcome table. Vicky’s heritage was also included in the wedding favors, each guest received a chopstick and spoon set.

As a Chinese American couple, Vicky + AJ were especially drawn to the Chinese Scholar Garden, after their tour with Celebrate, they immediately knew this was the perfect venue for them to honor both of their cultures.  As a couple, they aspired to spend as much time possible on the grounds outside. Vicky + AJ did a first look in the Chinese Scholar Garden followed by a ceremony in the beautiful Tuscan Garden.  After the ceremony, guests moved into the Chinese Scholar Garden to enjoy cocktail hour and then ended the night with a beautiful reception filled with lots of fun (be sure to check out their awesome photos bus) love and dancing in the Tented Pavilion.

The pair could not have asked for a more romantic wedding here at Celebrate, we could go on and on, but we’ll let these incredible wedding photos by Sebastian Bicard Photography speak for themselves.

THE RECEPTION

“Our first dance song was Something Stupid (cover) by Lola Marsh. We started taking dance lessons a few months before our wedding, which was easily one of the most fun parts of wedding planning for us. We treated these as date nights and a getaway from all of the wedding planning spreadsheets and documents.” – Vicky + AJ

Advice from our bride and groom: “Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives because of all of the love and support we felt from our family, friends, and our amazing wedding team. Our advice would be to carefully vet your vendors (meet and speak with them first if possible), take your time, and remember to relax and enjoy your day! The Celebrate team and the rest of our wedding team was so helpful in answering our questions and reassuring us throughout the planning process. On our wedding day, they were there to remind us to breathe and be present, which was exactly what we needed on a day that can at times feel overwhelming.”

We are so lucky to have delightful couples like Vicky + AJ to work with at Celebrate Snug Harbor. A special thank you to their fantastic team of vendors who all took part to make their wedding a day to remember.
