Jillian and Andrew

From the first moment they arrived on the handsomely manicured grounds of Celebrate at Snug Harbor, Jillian and Andrew knew they had found the ideal setting for their July wedding. Infact, both Jillian and Andrew had ties to Snug Harbor from different points in their lives. Andrew grew up playing baseball in the fields next door to Snug Harbor, and Jillian had her college graduation party at Celebrate.  Secondly, she also led many class field trips to the various museums on the campus as a teacher.  The happy couple knew this was the perfect venue for their wedding reception with the beautiful and picturesque grounds and sentimental ties, it truly was meant to be.

A summer wedding is the perfect time to host a wedding that’s full of bright colors, and one of our favorite and sustainable ways to incorporate pops of color is by mixing citrus fruits into the scene. Jillian and Andrew choose a wedding theme that included Sicilian oranges.  The centerpieces encompassed the overall theme of the evening showcasing these big beautiful real oranges with big green leaves in terra cotta pots.

The wedding theme carried over into the couple’s choice of invitations, favors and decorations. The invitations started the trend of showcasing oranges and ivy with their initials on the front in an orange. The seating chart, drink menus, and favors all matched with the orange theme as well. The favors were wrapped in white with an orange organza bow and the same orange and green leaf symbol that was showcased on the rest of the decor. Inside the boxes were an espresso mug and plate set. Jillian and Andrew added an Aperol Spritz for signature cocktail which was another fun element tied into the orange theme.

Decor and color can surely transform every space into a romantic one and this wedding is a perfect example of that enchanting romantic wedding vibe. The overall ambiance of the Great Hall with the warm brown tones, string lights and pops of orange brought the theme together effortlessly. The happy couple kicked off their reception by sharing their first dance to Joy of My Life by Chris Stapleton surrounded by all their family and friends.

When we asked Jillian and Andrew to share a piece of wedding planning advice they said:

“Our advice would be to have fun and to go with the flow. There is a lot to plan, a lot of details and a long day to think about. Don’t worry about things going “perfectly” because whatever happens your day will be amazing and special regardless. Soak in EVERY minute as it flies by. This is about you as a couple saying your vows and celebrating your love!”

We are so lucky to have wonderful couples like Jillian and Andrew to work with at Celebrate at Snug Harbor. A huge thank you to Dreamlife Photography for sharing these gorgeous photos.
